I had my first chance to do research during the school year under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Koch, alongside Huiming Zhang, Chelsea Funk, and Katy Brooke. We studied the last digit of each term in a linear recurrence relation. Specifically, we were interested in the cyclic nature of the resulting sequence of digits. After examining these sequences, we gave a complete list of possible period lengths in the second order case.
